Teen Therapy & Counseling in Las Vegas & Summerlin

Investing in your teen’s mental health has lifelong positive impact.

If you’re a parent searching for teen therapy in Las Vegas, you’re already doing something important. The teenage years are one of the most formative — and most challenging — periods of a person’s life. At The Peaceful Mind Counseling Center, our licensed therapists specialize in adolescent counseling for teens navigating anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, school stress, social struggles, ADHD, and more.

We provide a judgment-free space where your teenager can open up, build real coping skills, and grow into the person they’re becoming — with support that actually works.

Age 15-25 is the most important decade of your child’s life. They’re making decisions about who they are as young adults and what path they’re on. Teenagers are developing their self-esteem and laying the groundwork for their future. Thus, I genuinely believe we should be investing as much into their mental health as we are in their education.

Right now, while teenagers’ hormones are in flux and their brains aren’t even fully developed, they’re navigating things like romantic relationships, academic choices, peers’ substance use, mental health challenges, body image, self-harm, and more. For parents, this can be a terrifying time!

Gone are the days when you could hoist them, tantruming under your arm when they were being unreasonable, or you could make everything better with a snuggle and a kiss.

“Bringing my daughter in was the best decision we ever made. She didn’t have any major problems, per se; we were just worried about her mental health and wanted her to have a safe outlet as she navigates high school and gets ready for college.”

Why Put Your Teenage Daughter or Son in Counseling?

You want what’s best for them, you want them to make good choices, and be happy. You just want them to be okay and you recognize that you *both* deserve extra support to make that happen.

This is why therapy for teens is amazing. You’ll get the peace of mind that they have a safe space to process everything that’s going on, even if they won’t fully open up to you. You’ll know that they have a trustworthy, and highly skilled sounding board who they’ll actually listen to.

Most teens are desperate to open up to someone about their thoughts and feelings- they just don’t always talk to their parents because they’re afraid of judgment, consequences, lectures, etc.

Therapy for teenagers provides this perfect middle ground. We can listen, empathize, validate, and problem solve in a meaningful way. We get to be a voice of reason they trust and will actually listen to. (It’s not about you. I have 4 daughters who won’t listen to me when they’re teenagers either, and they’ll all be in therapy for the exact same reasons I’ve outlined above!)

We’d love to be in your corner and support your teen through this important stage!

What We Help Teenagers With

Teens come to us for many different reasons. Some are in crisis; others just need a consistent, trusted outlet outside of home. Our therapists work with adolescents experiencing a wide range of emotional, behavioral, and mental health challenges, including:

Anxiety and social anxiety — Whether it’s test anxiety, fear of judgment from peers, or persistent worry that won’t quit, anxiety is one of the most common reasons teens seek counseling. We help teens understand what’s driving their anxiety and build practical tools to manage it.

Depression and low mood — If your teen has lost interest in things they used to love, seems persistently sad or withdrawn, or is struggling to find motivation, therapy can help them reconnect with themselves and find their footing again.

Low self-esteem and negative self-talk — Adolescence is when self-image takes shape. We help teens challenge the harsh inner voice, build genuine confidence, and develop a healthier relationship with who they are.

ADHD — Our therapists have specific training in working with teens with ADHD, helping them develop organizational strategies, emotional regulation skills, and a stronger sense of self-efficacy at school and at home.

School stress and academic pressure — From managing heavy course loads to college application anxiety, the pressure teenagers face academically is real. We help them build resilience and sustainable habits without burning out.

Social struggles and peer relationships — Friend drama, bullying, social exclusion, romantic relationship challenges — we help teens navigate the social landscape of adolescence without losing themselves in it.

Self-harm and emotional dysregulation — When emotions feel too big to handle, some teens turn to harmful coping mechanisms. We provide specialized, compassionate support that helps teens find healthier ways to process overwhelming feelings.

Trauma and difficult life events — Divorce, loss, abuse, family disruption — teens don’t always have the language or context to process major life events. Therapy gives them a space to make sense of what they’ve been through.

Identity and life transitions — Questions about who they are, where they fit, and what they want from life are healthy and normal — and often benefit from a skilled, unbiased person in their corner.

Not sure if your teen’s situation is “serious enough” for therapy? It is. You don’t need to wait for a crisis to reach out.

Helping teens choose happiness.

What Teen Therapy Looks Like at Our Las Vegas Practice

A lot of what we’ll do, in our Las Vegas practice, is just process what’s going on in their lives. We’ll talk about friend drama, boy drama, school drama, and fights with you. Teen counseling truly can become an outlet for healing, empathy, and growth for your daughter or son!

But I’ll also teach them specific skills to deal with things like depression, anxiety and negative self-talk. I’ll also instill important life-long lessons like self-respect, self-worth, setting boundaries, interpersonal effectiveness, and how to find yourself and build a great future.

For your teenager, sessions are a judgment-free space that’s entirely theirs. We start where they are — talking about what’s going on in their life, what’s stressing them out, what’s making them feel stuck. A lot of what comes up early on is the everyday stuff: friend drama, school pressure, conflicts at home, questions about the future. That’s exactly where it should start.

From there, we move into building real, lasting skills. Depending on what your teen is working through, that might include cognitive behavioral techniques for anxiety or depression, emotional regulation strategies, tools for navigating conflict and relationships, or building a more grounded, positive sense of self. Our therapists draw on evidence-based approaches including CBT, DBT skills, ACT, EMDR, and IFS — always tailored to the individual teen.

For parents, teen therapy is a partnership. You won’t be in the room for every session — your teen needs their own space — but you’re not left out of the process. We keep parents informed, offer guidance on how to support what your teen is working on at home, and can bring parents and teens together when that’s the right move. The goal is for the whole family to come out of this in a better place.

A Mom’s Review of Her Teen’s Therapy Experience

“Being a teenage girl is hard! Being a parent of a teenage girl is hard! I would say my teenage daughter is well-rounded, happy, and responsible, but there is still SO much learning and emotion that goes into being a teenager. As a mother, I have tried helping to navigate some of the emotions and vital growth that occur during those teenage years, but oftentimes, I found I didn’t have all the answers or tools to help. So we turned to Chrissy who came highly recommended. She has been AMAZING to work with and has given my daughter so many tools that have helped her in her journey into becoming an adult. She loves having someone to talk to that isn’t a family member and I love her having someone to talk to that is an expert on the things I am not! My daughter has grown in her self confidence, ability to manage friends, big emotions, jealousy, perfectionism, and much more. Chrissy is young and fun and relates so well to girls this age.

My daughter has expressed that she didn’t think she needed a therapist but is so glad she has one! I am now a believer that every teenager can benefit from counseling no matter your circumstances. I am so grateful we have put the time and money into helping our daughter learn to cope with all the world throws at her now and know how valuable it will be for her to have the tools she needs to function successfully in the future.”
