Who is grief therapy for?

Grief comes in many shapes and forms and for many reasons. Each of us handles grief in different ways depending on our situation and loss.

While most people think of grief therapy for the loss of a loved one, there are many other reasons to look for grief counseling and coaching. If you’re experiencing any of the following you may benefit from grief counseling:

  • Loss of a loved one

  • Break up
  • A loved one moving away
  • Pet loss or death
  • Being fired or losing a job

Chrissy lawler therapist in las vegas

Hi, I’m Christine Lawler.

I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and I’ve been practicing therapy for almost 15 years. I have an amazing husband who I’ve been married to for 14 years, and we’ve got four darling little girls.

I love this work! Change and healing are possible, and it’s so rewarding to be in this process with you. Wherever you are feeling stuck, we can target it and find breakthroughs to make your life, your relationships, and your mental health meaningfully better. You deserve to be thriving.

I graduated from the #1 Marriage and Family Therapy program in the country. I can confidently report that my education was top notch and I am committed to providing the best possible mental health treatment available. Unfortunately, unskilled and under-educated therapists can do more harm than good and often clients have no way of discerning. Because of this, I have thrown myself into reading and taking continuing education courses from the leaders in the field. You’re in good hands– let’s dive in!
Leslie frederick therapist in las vegas | The Peaceful Mind Counseling Center

Hi, I’m Leslie Frederick.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I have long had a passion for helping and serving others.

I began my career as a social worker for a local hospice.  I found great purpose in helping families navigate the unpredictable twists and turns that undoubtedly come along with the end of life for their loved ones.  After many years in hospice, I transitioned to a medical social work position in a hospital, which then led me to a Clinical Social Work Intern position in an inpatient psych hospital.  During this time, I enjoyed working with a range of individuals and families.  The vast array of cases I encountered in the hospital allowed me to gain the experience and skills needed to serve a multitude of clients.  I enjoy working with clients of all ages and believe in meeting a client where they are at in order to tailor treatment to meet their individualized needs and work towards their specific goals.

I have a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Northern Arizona University and a Masters in Social Work from UNLV. I am originally from Northwest Indiana and have lived in Las Vegas for over ten years with my husband and our three children. We love living out west and enjoy spending time traveling and exploring our neighboring states.

I can meet your needs, whether clinical or spiritual. I am an adept clinician with great success giving special attention to fostering health and wellness through therapeutic relationships, exploration, and promoting personal responsibility.

aryn miller cpc | The Peaceful Mind Counseling Center

Hi, I’m Aryn Miller.

I am a Certified Professional Counselor (CPC) licensed to practice in Ohio and Nevada.

I specialize in working with clients throughout pregnancy, postpartum, and beyond. The journey into motherhood is one of the most significant biological and psychological transitions that humans face. Yet, society tells us it should be the most exciting and wonderful time of our lives. It’s okay if this is not your experience. I’m here to help you navigate this new normal and find yourself again. I have specialized training in Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Stetson University and a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Dayton.

I offer telehealth sessions in both Nevada and Ohio. You already have enough on your plate – no need to worry about securing childcare and all the logistics of in-office sessions. Grab a coffee and a comfy spot, and let’s get started!

Hi, I’m Kim Boschee.

I’ve been a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist since 2005. Originally from the Midwest, I completed my undergraduate degree in Psychology/English Literature at Illinois Wesleyan University and then finished my graduate studies in Counseling Psychology at Indiana University. I moved to Las Vegas in 2002 to complete my graduate internship, and liked it here so much, I decided to stay!

Whether you are feeling anxious, depressed, or overwhelmed, therapy is a transformative way to safely sort through these emotions. Together, we will create an action plan to promote a sense of empowerment in your life, generating improved well-being as well as sustainable changes. If doing less isn’t an option, then let’s do better.

I love working with couples, families, individuals, and adolescents from the lenses of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Functional Family Therapy (FFT), and the Gottman Method. My career began in the government sector and has included both agency and nonprofit arenas. Currently, I work with clients in a variety of stressful, demanding career fields including medicine/healthcare, business leadership, academia, and financial planning.

Outside of the office, you’ll find me in the mountains or on the golf course; I’ve been a member of Red Rock Search and Rescue since 2020 and am the (very proud!) mom to a competitive junior golfer. I believe in a holistic approach to life and work to weave this mindset in all areas of my life.
